Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II - Reestablishing Tourist Trust

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for franchise hotel operators who locate in the Wisconsin Dells area.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for property owners who construct housing for temporary work staff on their land.  The Village of Lake Delton is clearing land on Miller and Alcan to construct a law enforcement building that will be closer to the new conventions center.  Together these are being called Stage II of the Convention Hosting Industry in the Wisconsin Dells area.

These top down initiatives are being implemented to re-establish trust that the Wisconsin Dells area is committed to delivering a valuable experience for todays tourist families.  Consider the following:

- Huge Convention Center - Farther reach to attract new visitors

- Franchise Hotels - Predictable familiar for those new to area

- Housing for J1VISA Program Workers - Assures more than adequate level of service

- Larger Police Building - Communicates commitment to safety

Stage II of the Convention Hosting Industry is a hefty investment of public resources designed to solely benefit the tourist population.  These investments are a way of acknowledging the future of the Wisconsin Dells area is serving visiting tourists.  The new convention center is an attraction designed to bring visitors in to the Wisconsin Dells area.
