Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II - Construction Fires

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for franchise hotel operators to locate in the Wisconsin Dells area. The Village of Lake Delton is giving financial incentives to property owners who construct housing for temporary work staff on their property.  The Village of Lake Delton has approved financing to construct a law enforcement building in Miller and Alcan which will be closer to the new convention center.

All this construction will involve an increased need for security.  Recall the partially constructed dorm building burning to the ground on Adams Street - the Wilderness Resort property.  This brought the ATF and Insurance investigators in to the area.

Now on April 10, 2019 a partially constructed two story apartment building at 85C Grand Canyon Drive burned to the ground.  Initial estimates calculate the loss at 1.5 million dollars.  These fires present a risk to those in the surrounding area.

With all the construction projects at various stages in the Wisconsin Dells area expect to see a stronger implementation of security interventions.   Insurance organizations require this in areas deemed high risk.  Construction projects in the Wisconsin Dells area seem to carry a higher than normal risk of loss due to fire.

Establishing security at the very beginning of a construction project will be the norm.  The Wisconsin Dells area has entered stage II of the convention hosting industry.
