Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II - Benefitting Tourism

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups. This is expected to attract a whole new population of shared customers in to the Wisconsin Dells area.

These hefty investments from such a small rural community can be perceived as evidence of the Wisconsin Dells community utilizing vacationer revenue to improve future experiences for visitors.  This helps the vacationing consumers understand where the money goes when they pay for a stay in the Wisconsin Dells area.

The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for property owners who build housing for temporary work staff on their land.  This is primarily housing for the J1VISA Program population that comes in to the area to work for about 90 days.  Vacationing consumers soon discover the employees to staff the Wisconsin Dells area business modals must be imported from outside the Country.  Vacationing consumers pay for the J1VISA Program workers travel and housing.

The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for franchise hotel operators who locate in the Wisconsin Dells area.  Village of Lake Delton administration places a higher value on franchise hotels.  Vacationing consumers pay for the ongoing effort to place more franchise hotels in the Wisconsin Dells area.

The Village of Lake Delton has authorized funding for a new law enforcement building to be constructed on Alcan and Miller - which is closer to the new convention center.  With the increase in visitors coming to the new convention center the area will need a stronger law enforcement presence.  More people to serve means more public service.  Vacationing consumers create the revenue area residents require to bolster public services to better meet the rising need.
