Risk of Land Gift - Moving Wisconsin Dells School

Land that is gifted - conveyed will have qualifying restrictions printed upon the contract.  Think of Bowman Park in Wisconsin Dells.  In the original contract the Bowman Park property must be used as a public park.  If the City attempts to use the land for something other than a public park - the property reverts back to the Bowman Family Heirs.

This assures those donating the gift that the land will be used in a way they are intending.  These restrictions limit utilization and extend contractual control in to the future of the Wisconsin Dells students.  It will be beneficial for the greater Wisconsin Dells community to understand how qualifications listed upon the contract to convey the gift of land will limit future use.

Will Wisconsin Dells Move High School Building Across The Bridge

The fragile Wisconsin Dells Down Town commercial district is bracing for additional loss of stable revenue patterns as the community considers moving the High School Building across the bridge.  Total enrollment in 1996-1997 was 1752 students.  Total enrollment in 2016-2017 was 1696 students.

Some are saying there is an under stating of the over all value in choosing the most beneficial location for a new building - that will be so dependent upon City of Wisconsin Dells services.  This location selection appears to be very costly - while diminishing over all benefits across the community.   Are we supporting our students in a way that enriches the over all community by properly employing our ever limited resources.

The City of Wisconsin Dells carries a cumbersome 30 million dollars in Municipal debt.  This increases the City of Wisconsin Dells dependence upon surrounding communities and effects decision making.  The cost to the City services with maintaining a new building on the chosen piece of raw - rustic property is higher than one would expect.

A High School building has an anchor effect on attracting business modals that exist to serve parents and students.  There is a value to a community when a High School building is placed in a location that consumes fewer of the Cities limited resources while bolstering existing business providers annual revenue.

This is written to encourage the voting public to consider the placement of an important building like a High School as a way to support our precious students while enriching the over all community.
