Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II - Hotel Occupancy Dip

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups.  This is expected to bring a huge new population of shared customers in to the Wisconsin Dells area.

The Wisconsin Dells area lacks adequate hotel rooms to properly serve this huge new population of shared customers coming to attend scheduled conventions.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for franchise hotel operators who locate in the Wisconsin Dells area.  The La Quinta Del Sol Franchise Hotel received 1.8 million dollars from the Village of Lake Delton to locate along the Wisconsin Dells Parkway.

This challenges the Kalahari Resort Convention Center to be functioning at the higher end of capacity.  The Kalahari Resort Convention Center must be consistently providing space for huge groups to assure the new franchise hotel locations can maintain a profitable operation.  Tracking and recording the new franchise hotel operations occupancy provides the data needed to demonstrate the convention center is functioning at the higher capacity level.

A dip in franchise hotel occupancy in the Wisconsin Dells area implies the Kalahari Resort Convention Center is functioning below the desired capacity.  The tracking and recording of these data points will be central to the Village of Lake Delton demonstrating evidence that these hefty investments can produce a return.  The Wisconsin Dells area has entered stage II of the convention hosting industry.
