Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II - Collaboration Between Village and City

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups.  Receiving a return on the hefty investments of public money through the Village of Lake Delton is dependent upon collaboration.  This is collaboration between the Village of Lake Delton and the City of Wisconsin Dells who serve a shared customer population.

As we enter into Stage II of the convention hosting industry it will be important to monitor the measures of quality associated with the 5 simple variables.

1. Social - we are a community of global travelers who present different needs.  Recall the recent murder of Tetiana Huzhva by Fuad Pashayev and the leaving behind of a 2 year old daughter.  This family was made up of individuals temporarily staying in the area through the Federal J1VISA Program.

2. Technological - We need to be a part of the coming 5G fifth generation wireless implementation

3. Economic - Our business modals are being upgraded through the support of local public funds.  This is making us more dependent upon the Federal J1VISA Program.  The area has never been more interdependent.

4. Environmental - the area is experiencing more and more episodes of extreme weather , flooding, straight line winds, which disrupt the delivery of our summer outdoor business modals.

5. Political - Understanding how the community can grow locally despite more pronounced divisions across the political landscape.

A positive outcome from the many monetary investments being made through the Village of Lake Delton will depend upon crafting a shared vision for the future.  With the erosion of local control by the authority of the State of Wisconsin the Village of Lake Delton and the City of Wisconsin Dells will benefit most from a stronger approach to collaborating.  Sharing resources, sharing rewards.  The Wisconsin Dells area has entered stage II of the convention hosting industry.
