Anthem Jumps Out Wisconsin Day B4 Health Regulations Released

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Health Insurance Plan has notified the State of Wisconsin Commissioner of Insurance the intention to stop participating in the Federal Health Insurance Market Place in January 2018.

Anthem listed uncertainty related to the anticipated Federal Government Legislative initiatives to alter the Health System Structure through newly enacted regulations.

Changes to Health Care Law are expected to be released to the public on June 22, 2017.  Certainly Anthem understands their current Health Insurance Plans will no longer be satisfactory for consumers under very different regulations.

Home Care Path reminds families that the Wisconsin health insurance system continues to be in transition.  Anthem making public their decision to stop offering plans on the Health Insurance Market Place is an expected part of this transition process.

Without clarification on Federal and State Health Insurance Regulations the contracted providers will continue to limit eligibility for their service as a means to reduce risk.  The system is functioning at a lower than acceptable level of quality leaving patients and providers feeling stuck.
