Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II Late Winter

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet ) capable of serving large regional - national groups.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives to hotel franchise operators willing to locate in the Wisconsin Dells area.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives to property owners willing to build housing for temporary staff in the Wisconsin Dells area.

The Wisconsin Dells area has received a lot of snow which can be an obstruction to keeping construction projects on their completion target.  The fragile local economy has become dependent upon the revenue that comes with Spring time visitors.  This heavy amount of snow will be followed by Spring flooding.  Spring flooding disrupts the ability of water attractions to return to operating status.

The large amount of snow on the ground in the Wisconsin Dells area prevents the Spring road construction from beginning.  Late starts on Spring road construction projects pushes completion dates in to the peak summer visitation periods.  Road construction during summer visitation periods can devastate commercial pockets.

The Wisconsin Dells area has entered stage II of the convention hosting industry.  This is a top down effort to attract a large new population of visitors attending conventions.  The Wisconsin Dells community is hoping the big convention facility will become operational in the last quarter of 2019.
