Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Stage II Customs Culture

The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups.  The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives to franchise hotel operators willing to locate in the Wisconsin Dells area. The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives to property owners willing to build housing to serve temporary work staff.

The Wisconsin Dells area is experiencing another major shift in the fabric of the culture and customs which will help define the delivery of services in the tourism industry.  This major shift is being labeled Stage II of the Wisconsin Dells Convention Hosting Industry.

Notice that in the past the Wisconsin Dells community served groups traveling down river to bring their logs to market.  The building of the electric dam slowed waters and blocked rafts from going through so the river rides were developed to attract visitors.

Later outdoor water parks delivered a new experience that attracted visitors to come stay in the Wisconsin Dells area.  The outdoor water slides eventually moved indoors which extended the summer tourist season. These are major shifts that rippled across the fabric of the culture and customs to define delivery of services in the treasured tourism industry of the Wisconsin Dells area.

The effort by the Village of Lake Delton is signaling  another major shift in the culture and customs which will define the delivery of services to Wisconsin Dells visitors.  This huge convention center is expected to attract large regional - national groups to the area.  Residents are equating this with the past annual visitations by the members of the World Wide Church of God.  Consider the impact of a year round visitation by varied groups of this size.
