The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional- national groups. Included in this effort is the Village of Lake Delton providing financial incentives to franchise hotel operators who locate in the Wisconsin Dells area. More hotel rooms for over night stays will be available.
The State of Wisconsin Department of Tourism is organizing the promotion of outdoor recreation. Sauk County and the Wisconsin Dells area offer many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Wisconsin Dells area and Sauk County will be aligning their promotional efforts with the State initiative to high light outdoor recreation.
Sauk County and the Wisconsin Dells area is expected to attract families who rent out their dwelling through VRBO or Airbnb to visitors attending the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled for July 13-16 2020 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The supply of over night space in Milwaukee will be low due to the increase in demand. Milwaukee families can profit from renting their dwelling , and staying in the Wisconsin Dells area during the DNC 2020 convention.
The Milwaukee area benefits from this activity assuring traveling guests have access to over night space. Sauk County and the Wisconsin Dells area business operators benefit from the additional visitors to the area. The State of Wisconsin Department of Tourism will applaud a promotion that moves people to visit different parts of the State.
