The City Of Wisconsin Dells is busy renting store frontage back to property owners. The property owners are being encouraged to pay the City of Wisconsin Dells a rental fee for seating near the front of their stores.
Wisconsin Dells businesses that have always placed seating for their passing visitors will be informed the seating was not formally approved by the City municipal authority so it must be removed. The business will be told they can go before the City municipal authority and request approval.
There are stores on Broadway that have always provided courtesy seating for families to take a needed rest - that will be told to get them out of there. The City of Wisconsin Dells is now in the business of renting this piece of property back to the owners.
The board of review will explain the store should be renting sidewalk space as out door dining like the other establishments have been trained to do. The expectation being the store either pays for an outdoor dining area directly in front of their establishment - or pays for the designated sidewalk dining areas.
Lets watch as the City of Wisconsin Dells begins to use Sparse Police Resources to influence property owners to rent frontage areas. Kind of like paying to take a ride on your own horse.
