Wisconsin 39th Governor Martin Schreiber Shouts Alzheimer's Dementia Alert

Martin James Schreiber the 39th Governor of Wisconsin served from 1977 to 1979.  Martin Schreiber has published a book " My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping , and Surviving as an Alzheimer's Care Giver".

Caring for his wife Martin Schreiber was projecting himself in to everything being experienced, not just by sitting on the bleachers and observing, but by participating in the reality that emerges.  The care giver seems to understand they stand between two worlds - one reality and the other Alzheimer's disease driven perceptions.  There is no either or -but really both worlds existing and interacting at the same period of time.

Martin Schreiber is scheduled to speak at the 21st Annual Geriatric Health Symposium that Mayo Health Clinic System - Franciscan Health Care will sponsor this Friday at the Radisson Center in Lacrosse Wisconsin.  This is an exclusive gathering for Geriatric Professionals.  This is an opportunity for a care giver (Martin Schreiber) to educate the Alzheimer- dementia treatment providers from real life experience.

One of the main communications will be the need for the help of another.  Every family caring for an individual experiencing the undesired symptoms of Alzheimer's -dementia will need the help of another.  Care givers struggle to make sense of their day to day participation in these seemingly two worlds- which can result in forgetting about their own well being.

The help of another is called "respite" by the senior care industry.  Home Care Path is constructing a digital platform designed to assist families with getting some help from another.  Take a peek here

The effort included with Martin  Schreiber publishing this book involves bringing attention to the need to support both the Patient and the Care Giver.    Home Care Path  would like to take this opportunity to thank Martin Schreiber for his very important work on this real need.
