Wisconsin Dells Politics Hitting Visitation

The Wisconsin Dells area business modals are dependent upon work experience travelers who come from outside of the Country through the J1VISA Immigration Programming to staff their locations.  The current Administration of the Federal Government is enacting legislation to restrict this kind of legal immigration.  The Administration of the Federal Government is saying the Country is full - you are not welcome.

Wisconsin Dells is home to more than 4500 work experience travelers who come from outside of the Country to support tourism efforts.   Community planners are questioning if the high concentration of individuals immigrating from outside of the Country to live in Wisconsin Dells could be contributing to the dip in visitation.

Simply - are some families that side with the current Administration of the Federal Governments stance on immigration avoiding the Wisconsin Dells area.   This dip in annual visitation numbers adversely effects the Wisconsin Dells ability to fund their libraries, schools, and pools.

The Wisconsin Dells Business Improvement District Committee is planning a trip to Gatlinburg to get some ideas on how to improve tourist visitation.  Part of this will involve learning how to present their location as a global destination with a diverse work force made up of people from around the world.
