Coffee 2 Prevent Onset of Dementia Study Shows

A recent study conducted at Bloomington Indiana University and published in March 2017 indicates coffee may actually prevent the onset of dementia.  This is a fairly simple intervention that could prove important for supporting the function of an aging brain.

The caffeine boosts the production of an enzyme NMNAT24 -nicotinamide mononucleotide adenlyltransferase -  which acts by combatting misfolded proteins known to cause dementia symptoms present in Alzheimer's, Huntington's, and Parkinson's disease.

Dementia is connected to nerve loss in the brain which is communicated as a degenerative brain disease process.  Consumption of coffee seems to help prevent the onset of dementia - seems like an easy intervention to implement.
