Wisconsin House Checks Vacant Lot Not A Community Dump

Wisconsin House Checks staff report getting calls to look in on vacant pieces of property.  The primary concern of the property owner is watching for dumping.  Discarded objects can range from Christmas trees to old air conditioners and more.  Letting this dumping activity go can result in fines from patrolling wardens, regulatory enforcement staff, or police officers.

The property owners complain that despite not having set a foot on the land in 5 months the community is threatening to fine us for a dump site.  The property owner is asking House Checks staff to visit weekly for a 3 month period.  The property owner would like a record of any observed dumped objects - package the data for distribution.  The property owner plans to communicate any dumping offense in a timely manner to the law enforcement staff working in the area.

The property owner expects that in about 3 months the word will get around the community - and the illegal dumping will come to a stop. The property owner explained this is a seasonal area and there really are no neighbors for a large part of the winter months.  The property is even more secluded in the winter months.

The property owner explained they were just sick of the authorities blaming this on us.  The House Checks investigation enabling support should involve the authorities earlier with the dumping and reduce the opportunity for a mess.  The family has an RV and stays on the property for a few of the summer months.

House Checks is a service delivered through Home Care Path an integrated senior living solutions organization serving Wisconsin since 2010.  Simply call 608-432-4286 and request a House Checks visit and leave your call back number.  A senior resource manager will return your call and offer to make a visit to set up service.  The property owner is charged 22.00 dollars per visit.
