Wisconsin 2018 Care Giver Crisis

Wisconsin is currently experiencing a caregiver crisis- not enough staff to meet the growing need.  Care giving organizations across the State report an increased number of care giver vacancies.

To manage the risk, care giving organizations have been limiting admissions.  In times where there is not enough staff to meet the need - the community will see medical acuity being pushed down the health care continuum.  This simply means the medical care provider depends more upon family to perform the tasks that seem to be skilled care.

This lack of care givers is further complicated by the increasing number of people seeking long term care.  If you are a family seeking help for an elder or person with a disability - you soon discover there are not enough staff to help.
