Will Medicare Skilled Home Care Regs Be Implemented In July 2017

Medicare is the valid pay source for skilled home care services.  New regulations for skilled home care agencies certified for reimbursement through Medicare are set to begin in July 2017.  This is intermittent skilled nursing services and therapies delivered to individuals confined to home.

The Federal Regulations:

- arrange transfer when more care is needed
- inform patient, caregiver, and MD with any changes to plan
- assess family ability to provide assistance
- include what patient can do for themselves
- must be confined to home
- caregivers need to be involved with care planning

It is uncertain if these regulations will be changed or eliminated prior to the scheduled implementation date of July 2017.

Home Care Path is an integrated senior living solutions organization.  Home Care Path delivers a non-medical form of assistance that is not covered, or reimbursed by Medicare- Medicaid. The new regulations will not apply to the services Home Care Path provides.
