Wisconsin's Centrose Extra Cellular Drug Conjugates

Centrose is a bio research and development lab at 918 Deming Way, Madison Wisconsin.  The Centrose model contracts the chemical assembly, marketing, and distribution out to established partner pharmaceutical service providers.

Centrose newest approach involves using a binding component that specifically targets (cancer) disease cells, a drug, and a linker that connects them.  This process is called extra cellular drug conjugates, where the active ingredient does not need to be drawn in to the cell.

By eliminating  dissociation and cell internalization the process is thought to reduce the undesired (hair loss, nausea) side effects.  Lab staff take antibodies and place a steroid on them, which is directed toward the cancer cells. The technique of attaching to antibodies keeps the steroid active when it binds to the targeted cells.

With extra cellular drug conjugates ingredients do not break down while targeting cancer cells.  The focus seems to result in decreased cancer cell proliferation, decreased cancer cell viability, and decreased cancer cell growth.  Controlling unwanted (cancer) cell growth while lessening undesired (hair loss- chronic nausea) side effects improves the marketability of the developed drug.  Delivery is expected to be through a skin patch.

Home Care Path staff encourages readers to keep an eye on these important developments in the treatment of cancer.
