6 Health Networks Partner For Larger Share Of Wisconsin Medical Delivery Market

UW Health, Gundersen, Aspirus, Aurora Health Care, Bellin Health,  and ThedaCare will collaborate across service areas to deliver access to about 90 percent of the State of Wisconsin.  Epic will lend information technology support linking this State wide delivery system.

Expect this new model of care delivery to embrace adaptive technology designed to improve revenue cycle management.  A specific example is charge capture related to E-visits 99444 as defined in the CPT manual as billable by primary care physicians.

Changes in traditional reimbursement has required smaller community health centers to join larger groups to improve fiscal integrity.  These larger groups of providers will employ an advanced approach to billing, coding, and accounts receivable management.

Technology will strengthen the relationship between the record of the medical visit and the pre-claim coding process. Besides greater consolidation and standardization expect the medical record documentation to support the code selection and improve claim submission acceptance.

The electronic medical record and the patient accounts individual invoice will begin to look a lot more similar.  Technology will encourage medical providers through information entry to better speak the evidence of need language being processed numerically while facilitating utilization analysis.  This is designed to prevent the reach back where paid claims have to be returned with post process utilization review.

Better revenue cycle management will reduce health plan costs attached to denial management frequency.  Less time and labor invested on the health plan side with claim denials. This can improve the health plans compliance with the mandated tighter profit margins. All part of driving down costs.
