Home Care Path LLC Nutrition For Senior

One of the most effective ways to improve a seniors health is with daily meals. Seniors enjoy eating with another person. Seniors enjoy adequate time for eating the meal. Seniors often need help making grocery list, storing grocery items, using recipe to prepare meals, cooking the meal, serving the meal, cleaning up the cooking supplies. Most seniors will eat more throughout the day with encouragement. A big part of encouragement is planning the meals ahead of time. The senior and the Home Care Path LLC staff cooperate to produce a meal. Eating planned meals at a consistent time daily can improve the seniors participation. Some seniors may require feeding. This can be as simple as cutting up the food to small bites and placing the spoon in the seniors hand and telling them to eat. Some seniors require staff to actually put the food in the seniors mouth bite by bite. Tips for successful feeding include having the senior sit upright with all meals, provide time between bites for adequate chewing and complete swallowing, small bites and small portions, have the senior sit upright approximately 30 minutes post meal. Always provide short encouraging phrases, chew the food, swallow it down, try a sip of this juice, this is good, we like this. Keeping a senior eating will always improve there over all health.
