Lucigen Scores 500k Wisconsin Economic Development Loan

Lucigen of Middleton Wisconsin has received a 500k Wisconsin Economic Development Loan.  This is to create rapid diagnostics for the medical setting.  Rapid diagnostics means immediate treatment and faster healing.

Lucigen has a history of isolating enzymes (OmniAmp) for a process called Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification (lamp).  This involves short sequences that are unique signatures for viruses and bacteria.  This is part of quickly identifying various bugs that contribute to hospital acquired infections.

This would allow medical providers in different settings to take a patient sample and perform the analysis on site.  No more collecting and shipping the sample off and waiting for the results.  Marketers call this a point of care delivery of service.  This flexible utilization lends itself to pragmatically serve a larger global market.

Home Care Path is excited to experience the new products and wishes Lucigen the best of luck on this important project.
