Senator McCains Unplanned Illness Requires More and More

The question United States citizens need to consider is how a person presenting with Senator McCains medical needs would receive treatment without his public funded insurance plan rich with benefits due to Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Industry mandates.

What began as a routine physical exam that rapidly advanced to emergency specialized surgery has resulted in a diagnosis of long term medical care needs for an unplanned illness.  The surgery was required to open a blocked blood vessel near the back of the eye by the brain.

Further complex medical testing has resulted in a diagnosis of glioblastoma - cancerous brain tumors.  This will now  require a combination of chemotherapy and radiation which includes extensive ongoing lab testing and digital imagery. None of this was expected when Senator McCain attended the clinic visit for a physical exam.

McCains condition is demonstrating to the Citizens in real life how a health insurance product needs to be able to serve the beneficiary.  McCain's illness has demanded the medical providers perform the proper specialized treatments according to protocol implemented over years of evidence based practice.  The medical providers know of no other way to help Senator McCain he just plain needs these interventions.

The newly proposed Federal Health Care Bill would enable the Insurance Industry to market plans with very limited benefits as Health Insurance Products.  This is catastrophic to the Medical Organization expected to serve the people with incoming illness with treatment that falls outside of their established quality driven protocols.  The Medical Providers will be consistently delivering service outside of internally established best practice resulting in litigation.

It is valuable to take Senator McCains condition  as a real life, real time example to measure how proposed health insurance plans under the new Federal Health Bill would serve real medical needs.  Senator McCain's condition demonstrates a very typical example of how Americans should expect their Health Insurance to work.
