On January 26, 2016 Governor Scott Walker signed Assembly Bill 453 coordinating Family Care and IRIS Program benefits for Rock County Wisconsin residents. The Department of Health Services will contract with Managed Care Organizations to administer the Family Care- IRIS Program benefits for Rock County Residents.
The (MCO) Managed Care Organization's will operate until Family Care-IRIS 2.0 is implemented. With Family Care - IRIS 2.0 the Department of Health Services will contract with participating Insurance Plans to administer the utilization of defined benefits.
These public health programs serve a State wide population of more than 55 thousand residents. The goal being to manage the chronic long term care needs in the least restrictive environment which is believed to reduce the cost of the services. The delivery policies reduce payment of skilled provision for the unskilled tasks associated with ADL's and IADL's. Purchasing services that can be billed at the assessed need reduces unnecessary outflow of limited resources.
