Wisconsin's Epic Health Kit Apple and Mayo Clinic

A progressive patient engagement tool was revealed on Monday June 2, 2014 at the Apple World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco.  Apple is developing (Health Kit) a support platform to facilitate the ability of individuals to upload health values directly in to their own electronic medical record.

This is cloud based data transport designed to connect Epic, Apple, Mayo Clinic, and the individual patient.  Patients and clinic staff will interact in a new way.  Current values would be available with the patients next face to face provider visit.

This gives Health Kit users the perception of a more individualized approach to medical service.  This encourages the consumer to participate in their own ongoing preventive strategies.  The patient can better understand how diagnostic values contribute to their over all health and wellness picture.

This is a marketing investment for Mayo Clinic very similar to the famous PATH ALONG  App  http://appsmakerstore.com/appim/j6kcdet8xvwk4s is to Home Care Path www.homecarepath.com .
The PATH ALONG App connects discharging Wisconsin patients to supportive care staff for 20.00 per hour.  The Health Kit will reinforce the individuals comfort with the services Mayo Clinc can deliver.

Mayo Clinic is taking a step in the direction that will eventually support a reimbursement structure that compensates providers for time utilized with telephone and online email communication.
A view of future change transpiring in the national arena.

The staff at Home Care Path would like to take this opportunity to wish Epic, Apple, Mayo Clinic, and the population served much success in the Health Kit Cloud API.
