The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups. The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for franchise hotel operators to come in to the Wisconsin Dells area. The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for property owners who build housing for temporary work staff. The Wisconsin Dells community is hoping to attract a whole new population of shared customers in to the area. This is a top down community development effort being called stage II of the convention hosting industry.
The Alliant Energy Center has published development plans that read like a page right out of the Wisconsin Dells area play book. The Alliant Energy Center is working with the State of Wisconsin to secure a 30 million dollar grant of publicly collected money . The hope is that this update will draw new users in to the convention space.

This new money is being invested to present the Alliant Energy Center as a premier destination designed to serve groups at the national level. The timeline for the Alliant Energy Center redevelopment is not available at this time. The Kalahari Resort convention center is expected to become operational in the last quarter of 2019.
The Wisconsin Dells area expects to see providers aligning their service modals to the emerging convention attendees needs. This will signal progress that translates to community buy in. Community buy in defines a shared effort that is becoming greater than the sum of the individual parts. This activity creates the efficiencies that benefit the convention attendees as well as the area business delivery. Wisconsin Dells is entering stage II of the convention hosting industry.
