Elm Street Plaza Helps Attract More J1VISA Staff Wisconsin Dells

The City of Wisconsin Dells has passed the blocking off of Elm Street to create an outdoor plaza - the community agreed this would have a positive impact on the efforts to attract higher numbers of individuals who come from outside of the Country through the J1VISA Immigration Programming to live and work in the area.

The new outdoor plaza on Elm Street in Down Town Wisconsin Dells is expected to be Wi-Fi embedded to facilitate wireless internet connections.  This is a community service listed as a benefit for individuals from around the globe who enroll through J1VISA Programming to come live and work in the Wisconsin Dells area.

The Wisconsin Dells area is home to more than 4500 work experience travelers who come from outside of the Country through the J1VISA Immigration Programming.  The Wisconsin Dells area actually needs more than twice that amount.

The Village of Lake Delton gives land owners high sums of money to build new housing for the J1VISA Immigrating population upon their property.  All efforts across the Wisconsin Dells area are to attract higher numbers of individuals from around the globe to enroll in the J1VISA Immigration Programming and come live and work here.

Expanding Wisconsin Dells Population A Policing Challenge

The Wisconsin Dells area has adapted the larger resort style delivery for serving about 4 million vacationers annually.  These larger resort style service delivery modals require a lot more staff than the local population will ever provide.

The Wisconsin Dells area's focus to meet this critical lack of labor is to attract much larger numbers of work experience travelers who come from outside of the Country through the J1VISA Immigration Programming to temporarily live in the Wisconsin Dells area.  The Village of Lake Delton is giving property owners publicly collected money to construct new housing on their land - specifically for the immigrating population.

The Wisconsin Dells area is home to more than 4500 work experience travelers who come from outside of the Country through the J1VISA Programming to temporarily live.  The Wisconsin Dells area actually needs more than twice that many.

The Village of Lake Delton has allocated publicly collected money to construct a new law enforcement building closer to the new convention center.  The community is recognizing the need for additional police officers to properly serve the expanding local population.  The high numbers of work experience travelers - more than 4500 - coming in from outside of the Country to live in the Wisconsin Dells area  - are not counted in calculating the local residents.

This means the police officers that are hired must serve a local population that is really more than twice the actual calculation of local residents.  To add to this challenge - the individuals come from around the globe - with varied levels of  communication - and life style approaches to interacting during their stay in the Wisconsin Dells area.

This means the ability to retain adequate numbers of law enforcement staff throughout the Wisconsin Dells area is becoming increasingly more difficult.  Being an area heavily populated with global residents brings challenges to the police officers day - you would not typically see in other Wisconsin communities.

Wisconsin Dells is A Global Community with Changing Culture and Tradition

The Wisconsin Dells area is populated with individuals who come from outside of the Country through the J1VISA Immigration Programming to live and work in the local tourism business locations.  The Wisconsin Dells area is home to more than 4500 work experience travelers who come from outside of the Country to live temporarily in the new housing the community is constructing.

The Village of Lake Delton provides financial incentives for property owners who construct housing for the immigrating J1VISA population to live on their land.  Property owners are receiving about 750 thousand dollars per building.

The Wisconsin Dells area adapted the large resort style delivery of services for the visiting population.  The Wisconsin Dells area lacks the local population to staff these large resort style tourism delivery business modals.  This means that without adequate numbers of more and more people coming though the J1VISA Immigration Programming from outside of the Country to temporarily live and work in Wisconsin Dells- the economy would rather rapidly collapse.

The huge population of work experience travelers are changing the culture and tradition of the Wisconsin Dells community through our daily interactions.  This is an expected outcome of our ongoing efforts as a community to attract higher numbers of work experience travelers who are willing to come from outside of the Country and live in Wisconsin Dells to help with tourism.

Wisconsin Dells Conventions HUB Mission Statement

Mission Statement

We are a community resource that creates visibility for insightful elements deemed significant to non-local convention organizers and group members considering the Wisconsin Dells option for their gathering.

Insightful Elements

Insightful Elements are the product of a process of predictive analysis performed upon Wisconsin Dells data that has been collected.

An example of an insightful element is:  The Wisconsin Dells area experiences a much higher than normal business lease failure rate.  This is due to the high cost of having to import our labor from outside of the Country.

This is important for convention participants to understand - because the business location they plan to visit on their stay in the Wisconsin Dells area may no longer be operational.

As the new convention center interstate exit 92 Wisconsin Dells Parkway at the popular Kalahari Resort staffs up to serve larger groups-  online access to real time information on the area becomes much more important.

Conventions Center Wisconsin Dells Global Systems Thinking

The new convention center interstate exit 92 Wisconsin Dells Parkway at the popular Kalahari Resort is getting ready to serve larger groups.  A space of this size is designed to serve groups at the regional - national level.

The ability of the new convention center to function at the occupancy levels the huge space is designed for - is dependent upon attracting higher numbers of workers through legal immigration programming from locations around the globe.

This pushes the Wisconsin Dells Area Community Planners to begin to adapt a global systems thinking practice.   Global systems thinking moves the conversation of the critical lack of labor across the Wisconsin Dells area from a tourism industry problem - to actually analyze the need in terms of public health, civic infrastructure, taxation, and issues of social justice.

Recall the murder of Tetiana Huzhva by Fuad Pashayev in down town Wisconsin Dells 322 Washington Avenue.  Both global traveling individuals came in to the Wisconsin Dells area through J1VISA Immigration Programming.  This is a tragedy that still brings tears to local individuals - and established a greater need for global systems thinking by community planners in the Wisconsin Dells area.

In other words going beyond the surface view of the local Wisconsin Dells Area tourism industries need for more workers - to include the global mechanisms, economic, legal, health and social implications.  The well documented critical lack of labor across the Wisconsin Dells area is not solely a tourism industry issue, but should include a promotional approach to outreach campaigns that attract technological providers who deliver the communication needed to strengthen global systems thinking agility.

In order for the new convention center at the popular Kalahari Resort to achieve the occupancy levels required to create the local financial transactions capable of delivering a return on the hefty 10 million dollar investment of publicly collected money -  the community will need to adapt to global systems thinking.

Wisconsin Dells Residents Fearful With Excessive City Debt

The City of Wisconsin Dells residents are concerned with the huge debt load.  The City of Wisconsin Dells carries a much higher and separate debt load than the near by Village of Lake Delton.

Economically the Wisconsin Dells area is seeing a collective systematic flow of revenue producing business modals being located upon the interstate near the new convention center.  This is a veering to one side - creating stable sources for premier resort tax and special room tax collections that financially strengthen the budgets of the Village of Lake Delton.

While in the City of Wisconsin Dells the debt is so high - we are circling the drain of receivership.  The debt is expected to be elevated with the cost of placing the structure and providing the services required to operate the new high school out near Rocky Arbor State Park.  In addition the Wisconsin Dells Business Improvement District is working to procure 600 thousand dollars from the City of Wisconsin Dells to block off Elm Street and Broadway and place an outdoor plaza.

Residents are hoping Department of Revenue - Expenditure Restraint Programming- designed to put budget limits on City spending will continue.   The City of Wisconsin Dells is seeing the selling of real estate and moving to avoid this approaching scramble to address the high debt.  Property owners do not have the resources to meet the City of Wisconsin Dells tax burden - when the municipality is forced to take action that enforces higher taxes.

Down Town Wisconsin Dells Braces For Drop In Vehicle Traffic

With the moving of the High School out along Rocky Arbor State Park the down town Wisconsin Dells business community is bracing for a significant drop in motor vehicle traffic.   Families will no longer travel through the down town commercial district to visit the Wisconsin Dells High School.

Down Town Wisconsin Dells business operators that benefitted from being within walking distance of the high school population expect that dependable revenue to disappear.  The land out along Rocky Arbor State Park has been annexed in to the City of Wisconsin Dells to facilitate the service structure essential for operating a high school building.

High School planners want to have the current location vacated by 2020 - and be diverting this population known for producing dependable revenue streams for local down town Wisconsin Dells business modals - out to the new High School building along the Rock Arbor State Park.

Down Town Wisconsin Dells business operators cannot be certain of the calculations that quantify this significant loss of revenue - only to say it is expected to be much more than anticipated.

BID Efforts and Removing Parking Enforcement in Wisconsin Dells

The Wisconsin Dells Business Improvement District Committee puts a lot of effort in to increasing visitation in the down town commercial district.  The BID Committee utilizes public resources in these ongoing efforts.

On Monday September 9, 2019 common council members who also participate in the facilitation of the parking board meetings will advocate for a significant reduction in parking enforcement hours in down town Wisconsin Dells to help increase visitation.

This reactive plea to reduce parking enforcement hours is another valuable piece of evidence that the BID Committees investment of scarce public resources has not been effective in producing a stronger visitation to the down town Wisconsin Dells commercial district.

Wisconsin Dells Eliminates Outdoor Plaza On Broadway and Cedar

Wisconsin Dells has eliminated the Outdoor Plaza on Broadway and Cedar Street.  This popular entertainment site has been shut down due to lack of visitation.  Staff at the military ducks has dis-assembled the stage, seats, and welcoming structure - packing it away.

The Outdoor Plaza has been eliminated after Labor Day weekend as the number of visitors to Down Town Wisconsin Dells drops dramatically.   The City of Wisconsin Dells Down Town is active with visiting tourists from Memorial Day to Labor Day - this is called the summer season.

After Labor Day weekend the Outdoor Plaza is shut down.  The outdoor water parks drain their pools and store their supplies.  More commercial locations become for rent or for sale.  Business operators open later and close earlier.

City of Wisconsin Dells elected officials debate changes to paid parking in Down Town.  Most all of the prime real estate corners in Down Town Wisconsin Dells has an unoccupied ticket booth.  The road construction project continues to block motorists access to the Municipal Hall and United States Post Office.

When summer ends it becomes increasingly difficult for residents and local business operators to pretend the Wisconsin Dells area is a vibrant year round tourist destination.
