The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups. This is expected to attract a huge new population of shared customers in to the Wisconsin Dells area.
The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for franchise hotel operators who locate in the Wisconsin Dells area. This will assure over night stay space for this huge new population.
This creates a greater dependence upon staffing through the J1VISA Program. The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for property owners who build housing for temporary work staff on their land. The Wisconsin Dells area is setting their sights on more than average tourism growth.
More convention attendees and more J1VISA Program workers means more need for law enforcement. Pictured we can see land being cleared for a law enforcement building which will be closer to the new convention center being constructed at the Kalahari Resort . More people to serve means the area will need a stronger law enforcement presence.
These top down growth producing efforts are being called Stage II of the Convention Hosting Industry in the Wisconsin Dells area. Expect to see the development of digital resources that will support this effort and improve the communities chances of getting a return on this hefty investment.
