The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional- national groups. The Wisconsin Dells area does not have the population to staff this enterprise. The Wisconsin Dells area resorts have become more and more dependent upon the J1VISA Program visitors to staff their operations.
The Village of Lake Delton is providing financial incentives for property owners who build housing for temporary work staff on their land. It takes more of the areas resources to serve more people. The increasing size of the J1VISA Program visitor staff requires the availability of additional services to support this large population.
An individual coming for a temporary stay through the J1VISA Program who needs medical care will likely be directed to SSM St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. The hospital staffs an emergency - urgent care service along with a complete community medical care location. Emergency transport service is available.
It is normal for individuals who become ill while working in the Wisconsin Dells area through the J1VISA Program to seek medical care. When you bring more people in to an area you need more services to support the population.
The Wisconsin Dells has entered stage II of the convention hosting industry. Economic growth initiatives that attract more tourists to the area , requires more J1VISA Program staff, which results in a greater need for local medical care services.
