The Village of Lake Delton has given the Kalahari Resort 10 million publicly collected dollars to build a convention center ( 212 thousand square feet) capable of serving large regional - national groups. These top down efforts are being called Stage II of the Convention Hosting Industry in the Wisconsin Dells area. This is public resources supporting private enterprise to grow the local economy. These can be described as exclusive process that have been implemented prior to the buy in of community members. Community buy in is necessary to strengthen the basic initiatives to reach a level of economic participation that can produce some return on the hefty investment.
One significant indication of community buy in will be the appearance of signage along the Wisconsin Dells Parkway alerting motorists to the direction of the Kalahari Resort Convention Center. Some individuals would be surprised to know that many people do not know what it is or where the Kalahari Resort Convention Center is located.
