House Checks A Graffiti Concern You Gotta Hear

House Checks received a call for service regarding graffiti concerns.  The home owner has moved from the dwelling which resides in the City.  The home owner describes plans for performing a vacation rental by owner as the dwelling is in a commercially zoned part of the city.

The home owner explained approximately one year ago the wall of the building was spray painted illicitly along with a long line of other nearby buildings.  The police were called and the officer estimated approximately 30 buildings were illicitly spray painted in this incidence.

Shortly after the home owner who was occupying the dwelling at the time received a visit from a municipal employee who gave the owner a ticket with a time sensitive mandate to fix.  The home owner expressed concern as the municipal employee was not actually law enforcement or on the State of Wisconsin Real Estate Inspection Registry.

The home owner was instructed to remedy the illicit spray painting immediately or face a monetary penalty.  The home owner went directly to their insurance agent to file a claim.  The insurance agent explained they would need the police report to determine the validity of the claim.

The home owner stopped at the police department and requested a copy of the police report of the illegal spray painting of the property.  The police dispatcher after much effort stated the police report has not been done yet and is not available.

The home owner went back to the insurance agent and explained the police report has not been completed and the dispatcher is saying it is not available.  The insurance agent stated this is unheard of - we would not process a claim without the police department completing the investigation and documenting the findings.

The home owner had visibly presented a copy of the ticket with the time sensitive mandate to fix to both the police department and the insurance agent.  This home owner who now resides in another State perceives the un-occupied home back in the City is still very vulnerable to graffiti.

The out of State home owner has asked House Checks to go 2 times per week.  House Checks staff walk the property checking doors, windows, and outbuildings- looking inside from the exterior where ever reasonably possible. The home owner wanted House Checks staff to be alert to the presence of graffiti- explaining this illegal act has created a huge headache for this family in the past.

House Checks charges 20 dollars per visit and is available in a large geographical area of Wisconsin between Tomah and Madison.  House Checks staff perform pre-scheduled visits during the daytime hours.  Simply call 608-432-4286 to schedule service.
