Columbia County Portage Wisconsin has plans for two large buildings. The City of Portage is collaborating with the Department of Natural Resources to add mass to the project property. The DNR is contracted to remove mud from the canal bed and this is scheduled for 2016. The project intends to procure the extracted canal bed mud to improve the level of the property.
This is a 45.51 million dollar construction project. The north canal bank will have a three story administration building. The south canal bank will have a 2 story health and human services building. Adequate parking will be an important piece of this project.
The Columbia County Board Executive Committee is working with the Columbia County Boards Ad Hoc Building Committee to borrow the funds to make this project happen.
