Consumer Reporting Fairness Act Wisconsin Credit Repair Nerds

United States Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) introduced a bill on Tuesday August 4, 2015 called The Consumer Reporting Fairness Act.  The bill would require banks and other creditors to notify credit reporting agencies when bankruptcy has extinguished a consumers debt.

The expectation being lenders would follow through post bankruptcy and up date the debt elimination with the credit bureaus (Trans- Union, Equifax, Experian).  The bill is not law - but communicates evidence for a need to act to maintain an important level of accuracy to your credit report.

Credit Repair Nerds Wisconsin has long recognized the importance of action to document an accurate credit report.
