Participants planning for a new plaza location in down town Wisconsin Dells fear the dis- assembling of their plan over the long off season. A lot can change rather quickly in a small resort community that depends upon the summer tourist season to economically survive.
The high cost of having to import our labor from outside of the Country creates a much higher than normal business lease failure rate across the Wisconsin Dells area. Private business enterprise partners may lack the resources or no longer be operational come next years summer season. This can sever the connection of once held favorable collaboration for the new plaza location in down town Wisconsin Dells.
The Wisconsin Dells Business Improvement District Committee will be assigned the task of submitting a more detailed budget for the rather new idea of closing off Elm Street for the next plaza location. This will identify required expenses that lack a valid pay source. Maintenance and security are two simple examples.
Plaza planners have a responsibility to the residents and visitors that have been attending their free evening events - to keep the Broadway and Cedar Street Plaza active until the new location is operational - off in 2021.
Many of the City of Wisconsin Dells Departments aggressively plan toward the end of the summer season - only to find their plans have completely dis-assembled - almost disappeared come next summer tourist season.
