The City of Wisconsin Dells has experienced 2 major post spring flooding events. Wisconsin Dells is a small resort community with many tourist attractions connected to the Wisconsin River. It is difficult to separate the functioning of Wisconsin Dells from the River that flows through the down town.
The increased frequency of flooding events that can create a hazard for both the residents and the visiting population has the community questioning water rescue capability. Should we as a community now assess our water rescue capability - to be sure it measures up to the new way extreme weather delivers rapid changes to the geography.
This seems like appropriate activity to assure safety while supporting the Wisconsin Dells dependence upon River tourism.
