Wisconsin Family Care Program Summer Construction Ahead

The 2015 budget outlines plans to transition the Family Care Program delivery to an insurance plan.
Legislative efforts would like to construct a more homogenous administration of the Wisconsin Family Care Program.

If the Wisconsin Family Care Program was being rated only on the number of participants this is the most successful community intervention ever implemented.  The agreed upon number of program beneficiaries exceeds 50 thousand state wide.

Data analysis has identified nine authorized (MCO) Managed Care Organizations that each employ program administrative staff which is seen as the duplication of service.  Administrative staff consume organizational budget money at a  much higher rate than care givers performing the hands on tasks.

Expect this change to be bolstered by mandates requiring a transition to electronic data communication.  A key component will be care givers capable of assisting family care participants to effectively interface across electronic lines to properly complete the eligibility process.

With the aging of Wisconsin's population the State Representatives are continually challenged to demonstrate evidence of activity to manage cost.  The citizens needing help and the care givers doing work stay about the same.  The structure and nomenclature will change approximately every two years.  June 30, 2015 will be the date of the next expected change.

The staff of Home Care Path encourages readers to stay positive.
