Wisconsin's RN Assisted Living Policy Enrichment Service 59.00 per hour

Three trends are converging to create the increased need for unlicensed (care givers) assistive personnel to participate in more complex disease processes.  A large portion of Wisconsin's population is getting older and living longer.  Public funded medical benefits are reducing reimbursement to help maintain sustainability.   Community care organizations are identifying the manifestation of more complicated symptoms related to these chronic conditions.

Community locations that employ primarily unlicensed (care givers)  assistive personnel can be confronted with helping a person with higher needs for a temporary period of time.  Suddenly the resident returns from a medical visit with insulin, a urinary catheter, a new medication, or an order for a bowel program. 

The assisted living location is unable to immediately move the resident and the skilled medical home care agency cannot see a way of being reimbursed for this service.  Home Care Path is developing a registered nurse assisted living policy enrichment service which will be billed at 59.00 per hour.  This is a business to business service the assisted living provider would contract with Home Care Path and pay for the delivery of this model of registered nurse support.  This will employ current information from the Wisconsin pharmaceutical advisory board, the assisted living industry, and the department of health services. 

The purpose is to establish internal policy that defines best practice strategies for managing these unplanned for events.  Developing policy and organizing training designed to improve staff performance while keeping the resident safe.  RN policy enrichment is a senior living innovator in the assisted living industry with a pragmatic approach to help varied non medical service models best meet their populations changing needs.
