Operation of Health Spot Can Reveal Delegation

Health Spot facilitates non-local primary care delivery within participating community pharmacies. 
A technician can assist users to activate diagnostic tools, connect in real time with medical staff, and transmit needed informatics.

The medical staff can be seen as delegating tasks of care to the technician assisting the user.  This is a general type of supervision.  The medical staff will have trained the technician observing the task being completed in a correct manner.  This support assures the technicians ability to consistently guide the consumer through the tasks of collecting and transmitting applicable health measurements.

The virtually available in real time medical staff then organize the transmitted health measurements and conduct the assessment, planning, and ongoing evaluation portion of the process.  The medical staff interpret the assessment data and secure an MD order for a prescription if indicated.  The prescription can then be sent to the pharmacy.  The medical staff instruct the user on the strategies to manage the undesired symptoms. 

The pharmacist would instruct the user on proper utilization with picking up the prescribed medication.  The medical staff would forward an electronic note of the Health Spot visit to the users primary care provider.

The medical staff have delegated tasks of collecting, recording, and transmitting health measurements.  The medical staff continue to perform the assessment, interpretation, planning, education, and evaluation of the care delivery process.  Watch for Health Spots to emerge in our local communities.
