Wisconsin Counties Prepare 4 Opioid Lawsuits 2 Combat Epidemic

Wisconsin Counties have begun to track legal distribution of opioids that are being marketed across their geographical area.  The Counties will organize the information regarding the legal distribution of opioids in 3 categories.

1. Opioid research

2. Opioid manufacturing

3. Opioid distribution

The research will be accused of down playing the risk of prescription opioids.  Manufacturing will be accused of intentionally misleading prescribers about the dangers of opioids.  Distribution will be accused of continuing to operate in a manner that bolsters sales within the County in the face of an epidemic.

This de-funding activity will be supported by a fiscal report that includes the annual expense of opioid over dose treatment and accidental deaths occurring across the County.  The County is seeking reimbursement from the Prescription Drug Companies for the harm and damage.  Lets watch as Wisconsin Counties begin to file these lawsuits.
