I am waiting on insurance package through Tri City Insurance. I am going to work with book keeper, accountant. The web site as well as the busniess cards and pamphlets need to be completed. I am considering potential workers. The meat and potatoes of this senior care business is coordinatiing staff to help the senior with daily chores. This will prevent them from becoming so run down they require frequent emergency room visits and permanent placement in assisted living. The process begins with a referral from senior or family for service. A home visit with assessment is done for the purpose of identifiying immediate needs and agreeing upon a staffing schedule, completing contract. Staff are then dispatched to the seniors residence and accompanied by Home Care Path LLC rep who provides and in home training. The senior signs the workers time sheet per shift. The senior is billed every two weeks for service. Home Care Path LLC totals individual employee hours on spread sheet and forwards to book keeper accountant who then captures withholding, records required data and forwards employee checks. This can be done.

Starting Senior care business in south central Wisconsin. Home Care Path LLC. Discussing pictures for the pamphlet and web site. Considering picure of self as youngster and saying I want to stay home when I become a senior. And possibly picture of stately looking ancestor in chair and have it read a seniors home is their castle. Kind of a different twist to the typical senior care communication. Will be important to identify the audience. Typically one markets to referral sources. Pharmacy, social service staff, county elder care service's etc. Nice to have a message that speaks to both seniors and the referral sources.

Starting senior care business in south central Wisconsin. Home Care Path LLC. Looking at organizational strategies today. Considering using small two drawer file cabinet. Could then create folders would take with each new hire. Would contain all the documents required with hiring process. Would keep master copy on hand and renew as needed. Determine information that would need to be forwarded to bookeeper. Files could also be stacked for new admits. So would have folders prefilled with all admission documentation. One could just grab the ready made file as going over to meet new potential member. One could also use a portable file, to carry in car. This would help ensure privacy. The files could be used with revisits to residence, review plan of care needs. Essentially each senior would have a file and each employee would have a file. Helpful way to organize hard copies of paper.

Starting a senior care business in south central Wisconsin . Home Care Path LLC. Received email notification from legal zoom that the LLC documentation is on the way to my residence per federal express. When I receive the LLC documentation, I can go to the bank to set up the corporate accounts. I am still waiting on the insurance work up. The web site is being worked on through microsoft office live, will have to figure out how to load some images on to the pages. My sense is that many teachers during the summer may be seeking part time work to supplement income. Being a care giver through Home Care Path LLC may be a win win. I have been putting together information for the pamphlet, the frequently asked questions, and a typical scenario. These will help communicate to the families some expectations, improving overall comfort in a times that can be stressful. My friends at the sticker store Xpress it in Downtown Wisconsin Dells have told me they could do logos on shirts as well. This may be great way to communicate to the public. Starting nonmedical senior care business. Staffing seniors homes with help that will prevent them from getting run down and ending up in emergency room, assisted living facility. So keeping seniors safe at home. Met with home care business owner who was very helpful yesterday. She gave me copies of background check forms and web site counties in Wisconsin all use. She gave me form for manditory reporting of new hires. She gave me time card form she uses. She has partnered with county on lot of cases. She also works with CMO care management organization Care Wisconsin, difficulty has been CW is 4 months behind in payments. She spoke of having to take out loan to pay her staff. I explained that was part of my belief about the senior care need. I believe Medicare and Medicaid will continue to provide less. This leaves seniors needing help with lot of the daily cares that are not reimburseable through federal and state plans. The daily cares provided by workers results in preventive measures. Typically a senior must be low income and high medical need (loss of function) to be eligible for services. BY supplementing the household with a support worker the senior can stall, prevent the increased needs. In a sense maintain a level of function and a quality of life that is stable, enjoyable.
