Home Care Path LLC helps most in need

Home Care Path LLC helps seniors who find themselves between systems. Often the senior does not qualify for Federal or State programs due to financial or functional reasons. Many seniors with Federal or State assistance find the program paying for less and less of what is truly needed. For example custodial care. Many families find the senior unable to comprehend their actual need for help. This can be troubling as the family may be doing over time trying to keep the seniors household a float. Most seniors when confronted with their need for help, will deny it. Seniors perceive their ability to perform daily chores much more effective than the actual ability the chore requires. For example seniors can go months without bathing, months with not laundering clothing, months with never grocery shopping or cooking a meal, months with out taking the medications precribed for them, months with not taking the garbage out, months with not paying household bills, and still perceive themselves as totally independent. Some seniors receiving daily care assistance still do not recognize the need.

Barky bath .5 hours once month, feeding and walking daily .5 hours per day. (3.5 hours week)

Dell bathing 1 hour two times per week .

20 hours per week at 18.00 per hour is 360.00 per week.

Typical Senior Scenario

Dell is a 92 year old male who resides in his own home in a rural setting. Dell has a large sheep dog named Barky. Dell dresses up in a suit and tie and goes to a local restaurant for dinner every evening. Dell used to have a lifeline but stopped paying for it cause he does not need it. Dell has had several cell phones that have been misplaced or stolen. Dell was referred to Home Care Path LLC by Emergency room staff, who stated his car is filled with garbage. Dell had experienced chest pain on a street in town and called for help from pedestrians who contacted 911. Dell has too much money and assets to qualify for medicaid.

Dell's car is filled with discarded restaurant food packaging. Dell also has Barky the large sheep dog who has nested in the back seat. Home Care Path LLC discovered Dell's home was also littered with discarded restaurant food packaging. Dell relucatntly agreed he often needed help with feeding, walking and bathing Barky. Dell had professional clothing, suits and ties he wore daily. The clothing had not been laundered in a long time. Dell had not bathed in over a year. When asked about his nitro medication for chest pain, Dell reported frequently switching pharmacies cause they always screwed up his prescriptions. Dell liked to store his medications in various coat and pant pockets so he could grab them when needed. Contact with Dell's current pharmacy revealed Dell had stopped taking his blood thinner and was always without a medicare part D prescription drug plan. Dell said he did quit taking his blood thinner cause they always wanted him to go to the lab for blood draws and that was a waste of money. Dell also takes his diuretic water pill infrequently cause all he does is pee it out. When asked what he thought he needed help with Dell replied just a few buttons is all.

Workers Advantage To A Home Senior Staffing Practice

Home Care Path LLC coordinates staff to preform daily chores to prevent the senior from getting so run down they end up in the emergency room or permanently placed in assisted living. When one compares work settings for caregivers the home senior care model has some advantages. Senior care workers have the same person over a longer period of time. The worker gets to know the senior better. This translates into a peace of mind. The worker experiences less surprises and changes throughout the work day. The senior care worker serves one senior at a time. This is very different from say a nursing home setting. In the nursing home a worker will have 10 or more persons to care for. Caring for one senior at a time increases effieciency, effectiveness. The service delivered to one person is superior to the service provided by one worker to 10 persons. The senior care worker has more autonomy. The senior care worker partners with the senior to devlop daily schedules. This improves the seniors comfort level with changes that do occur on a daily basis. Such as blood draw, medication change, provider visit. The senior care model reduces worker stress. Senior care workers are better able to assist the member with provider visits, when a history is present. Home Care Path LLC is a success in the making!

Business Cards Brochures

Home Care Path LLC coordinates staff to assist seniors to stay safely in the home setting. The time is approaching for the printing of business cards and brochures. The question is it more cost effective to print on personal home printer or pay for retail printing service. Currently waiting for web site completion as web site will be listed on the business card and brochure material. Seems the printed material needs to convey the name Home Care Path LLC, the service provided Coordination of staff to assist the senior with daily chores preventing them from getting so run down they end up in the emergency room or assisted living facility, and how to access the service call 608-432-4286, or email medium4u@yahoo.com. That is the basic information and function of the cards and brochures. I stopped yesterday at econo prints to speak with a rep who I was surpirsed to find out she was no longer employed there. She seemed very helpful and was sad to here I could not speask with her. Econo print would require a set up fee and printing fee.

Home Care Path LLC Marketing Strategy

Home Care Path LLC serving seniors in south central Wisconsin. Coordinating staff to perform daily work preventing the senior from getting so run down they end up in the emergency room or permanently placed in assisted living. One concept utilized in marketing senior care services is strategic alliance. I have a friend in Sparta Wisconsin who operates Care Mate geriatric consulting. I will contact her to discuss mutual benefit to cross referrals. This strategy also works with local hospitals, nursing homes, county aging programs. With Home Care path LLC the marketing focus is on referral sources. Verbalizing an easy referral process to a referral source is practical. Large organizational discharge coordinators are finding themselves too busy to serve the population they have been assigned. Referral sources want to be able to make a phone contact and call it done. So marketing can benfit from communicating a message to Senior, the family, and the referring community.

Microcosm Family vs Macrocosm Service Provider

Home Care Path LLC is a senior care business that staffs South Central Wisconsin homes with helpers. A theory exists regarding organizations who provide community care to individuals. The theory in a nutshell implies the serving organization will experience similar situations that the family encounters with providing care to the senior. Some family members will do better in the presence of the senior than others. Some organization staff will do better in the presence of the senior than others. Some family members will be unhappy with the direction of the cares delivered in the seniors home setting. Some organization staff will be unhappy with the direction of the cares delivered in the seniors home setting. Some family members will repeatedly promise to help the senior with tasks and not show up. Some organization staff will repeatedly promise to help the senior with tasks and not show up. Some family members will become so emotionally invested in the outcomes with the seniors daily experience, they drive family helpers away. Some organization staff will become so emotionally invested in the outcomes with seniors daily expereince they drive additonal staff away. Some family members will experience care shifts with the senior as an opportunity to recreate original childhood thoughts and feelings. Some organization staff will experience care shifts with the senior as an opportunity to recreate childhood thoughts and feelings. One can begin to see the delicacy's of caregiving as more of an art. The daily interactions can demonstrate an underlying interplay that often manifests patterns of truth. When the truths are experienced repeatedly, identified, and talked about to become familiar to all they are not so scarey. They can be seen as emergence of nonphysical patterns with a purpose beyond the day to day realm.

Do Senior Care Business Models Change??

The answer seems to be faster than the speed of light. The key to operating a successful senior care business is being able to adapt to changing times. What was working last year, or even six months ago, maybe different from todays approach to senior care. Try to keep your business plan fluid. You want to know what you have, the availability of the target population, and some successful selling tactics. Fluidity means understanding the variables. Size of delivery area is a variable. The owner can expand or contract the size of the area being served to help meet financial projections. The age of the member being served is a variable. The Senior care business may serve individuals from 65 to older, or decide to include those above 50 years of age. The menu of services is a variable. The senior care operator may limit service provision or add more services (painting, lawn care) depending on consumer need. When a senior care business quickly adds a service that staff can provide to the population in need, we witness adaptation to change. Thinking along these lines help the senior care provider remain competitive.

The Role Of The Agency is To Expect Problems

The role of the agency is to expect problems. The organization is required to recognize the defined population experiences chronic progressive processes related to aging. Function of the human system is in decline. The agency helps manage risk by finding immediate temporary solutions to daily problems related to changes that are occurring on a progressive level in the seniors life. Home Care Path LLC expects problems to arise daily. Human life today is not harmoniously meshed with the aging process. As individuals age, the daily requirements to everday life become more burdensome. When asked to identify their level of ability most seniors do not know. Most seniors are not quite sure what they can continue to do, and what they really need help with. The need for help is something that can change over periods of time. Home Care Path LLC staff are challenged to support independence while providing assistance with the tasks required to maintain stability in the household.
